If you’re pregnant, a lot is probably going through your mind right now. Perhaps you’re pregnant and don’t want to be, or you’ve already had an abortion and don’t want another one.
Luckily, other options are available to you, including parenting and adoption. These come with their own challenges, but you can confidently decide with the right resources and support.
What Do I Need to Know About Parenting?
You may know someone who is a parent, and chances are you’ve heard stories about how beautiful and challenging parenting can be. Parenting can indeed be difficult, but it can also be an incredible and rewarding journey.
Having the proper material and emotional resources is essential and may help ease any worries you may have. Options Women’s Care Center refers to Muskegon Pregnancy Services, which gives educational and parenting resources to expectant parents. We also provide community referrals for things such as job assistance, housing and utility assistance, and WIC.
Parenting can seem daunting, but we’ll be with you every step of the way.
What Adoption Plans Are Available to Me?
Adoption can be an attractive option and provides the opportunity to build a loving, supportive family. Some women feel emotional at the prospect of adoption because it can come with its own emotional challenges. But numerous adoption plans can fit your individual lifestyle and needs.
- Open adoption: In an open adoption, you can form a relationship with the child and adoptive family and choose the parents. You have a say in every step of the process and can have regular contact.
- Semi-open adoption: With a semi-open adoption, you have contact with the family, but all communication is carried out via a third party, like an adoption attorney or agency.
- Closed adoption: All records are sealed with a closed adoption, and your information and identity are kept entirely confidential. You remain anonymous.
Options Women’s Care Center can provide referrals to trusted adoption agencies.
